Kay Gilbert
Development Associate
The 2007 New Year began with Kay in the new Development Associate position at Donor Awareness Council. With a strong background in non-profit fundraising and development, her first objective is to become fully knowledgeable of our partner organizations, their roles in organ and tissue donation, and how to best facilitate donation as a community standard within Colorado and Wyoming. Kay's next objective is to create greater funding in support of the Donor Awareness Council mission.
She and her family are from Tennessee originally and have had the fortune
to live and travel around the world. "Seeing the lack of resources
in most countries makes me greatly aware of a multitude of privileges available
in the
USA and that many of us take our fabulous health resources for granted. I
feel we each have a fundamental responsibility to help others in need which
is why
I have always strived professionally to make opportunities toward charitable
acts known and appreciated. Organ and tissue donation is certainly the ultimate
gift of compassion," she said.
Kay brings to Donor Awareness Council
her experiences with the American Cancer Society, the Chamber of Commerce,
Tulane Cancer Center, The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society, and in corporate marketing and public relations. She is a Business
Administration graduate of Regis University. Kay loves to hike the Rockies
and to entertain. "Drop
in anytime, y'all!"
