High School Journalism Competition
Write for Life
Like to write? Studying journalism at a Colorado or Wyoming high school? In celebration of National Donate Life Month in April, Donor Awareness Council and Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank invite you to participate in the "Write for Life" Competition. Compete for cash awards, gift certificates and other exciting prizes!
How it Works
The competition encourages students to write an article on organ
and tissue donation for a school paper, a local paper, a subscription
web site, or other broadcast publication. We know
you have a lot going on with spring break, jobs, other
classes and exams, so we'll
provide helpful information like:
- Article ideas and sample titles
- List of transplant recipients, donor family members, living donors and health care professionals willing to be interviewed about their experiences with donation and transplantation
- List of transplant-related organizations offering free facility tours for students
- Sample press release for National Donate Life Month (April)
- Facts, statistics, FAQs and other information about organ and tissue donation, Donor Awareness Council and Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank
Deadline for the 2008 Write for Life Journalism competition Friday, March 14, 2008. Please contact us for more information.
